Step 1 - attach photo for reference, and scale it up to size. Then draw a polyline along the side shape of fork in image.

Step 2 - Draw an elipse the size of the widest part of the fork. Using the sweep command, sweep elipse along path of polyline.

Step 3 - Attach second photo of fork to scale, and use it for reference.

Step 4 - Rotate view then start drawing circles and other shapes to be exturded and revolved. Draw and extrude fork tip and middle sections, that is a grand total of three parts that start to make up fork.

Step 5 - Complete extruding and revolving shapes to create solids to be subtracted from original 3 objects, you know Boolean operations.

Step 6 - Flip to right side view to rotate and adjust the scale of objects to be removed.

Step 7 - After subtracting all the exterior objects you should have a roughly formed fork. Make sure each fork piece is on a different layer, name them whatever makes since

Step 8 - Import dwg file into 3DMax, the layers will be the same and there will be 3 separate parts.

Step 9 - Covert three parts of fork to editable meshes so you can manipulate the surfaces digital clay style a.k.a. pushing and pulling vertices.

Step 10 - Mold the fork as needed to fine tune the shape.

Step 11 - Draw a box to be used as a table top for the fork to sit on.

Step 12 - Create materials in material editor. I used a picture of stainless steel and wood table I took for the material maps. Then added UVW mapping to adjust the scale.

Step 13 - Adding omni lights as needed and adjust size and brightness to suit. I tried to mimic real photos I took of a fork on a table. Adjust Then render and save as a tiff or jpeg.

Step 14 - Bring rendered imaged into Photoshop, adjust color, contrast , and brightness. Add brush elements or whatever to make picture look more like the original reference pictures.
